Senators receive guided tour by Isabel Salom caretaker of Father Serra Museum .
The President of the Iberamerican Comision of the Spanish Senate and a delegation of Senators visited Mallorca with Senator Gari Duran, delegate for Year of Father Serra.
Ambassador Alan Solomont brought the US Spain Council to visit Mallorca, the birthplace of Father Serra. Meetings and lunch were celebrated with President Jose Ramon Bauza, President of Mallorca Maria Salom,Mayor of Palma Mateu Isern and Mayor of Petra Catalina Mas. The US Spain Council announced they will hold their 2014 Congress on the Island as well as generously donating funds to the Serra museum.

Mr Eric. Smith, of Salinas, Califronia gave widely read interview regarding the importance of Father Serra in the life, economy and history of California.
Dr. Roman Pina, Member of the Spanish Royal Academy of History, Professor of the Baleares University, Columnist and Ramon Llull Award recipient gave a highly acclaimed conference on “Junipero Serra,Mallorquin Ancestory in New California”. The conference was presented by Spanish Senator Gari Duran, Doctor in Spanish History.

Mr. Javier Piñanes, Director of the Tourist Office of Spain visited the Huntington Library with his colleagues Ana and Rocio. During their visit, they were received personally by the Huntington President Steve Koblick and Library Director David Zeiberg. The group is pictured above with the Serra researcher Dr. Steven Hackel while visitng the Serra room where the upcoming exhibit about the life and work of Father Serra is being prepared.
